Donations We Cannot Accept

The ReStore cannot accept or resell the following items due to capacity or liability reasons:

BookStore Items:

  • Cassettes- Music and VHS
  • Encyclopedias
  • Magazines
  • Recorded CDs, DVDs, and Blu-Rays

Electronics:

  • Computers
  • Copiers/Scanners
  • Fax Machines
  • Monitors
  • Phones
  • Printers
  • Speakers

Housewares and Furniture:

  • Bedding and Bed Pillows
  • Clothing
  • Cribs
  • Mattresses and Box Springs
  • Mirrors w/o Proper Framing
  • Sleeper Sofas
  • Towels
  • Toys
  • Window Treatments- Blinds, Curtains, Curtain Rods, Drapes, Valences, etc.

Building materials:

  • Aluminum Storm Doors
  • Cubicle Walls or Systems
  • Glass Panes w/o Proper Framing
  • Paint
  • Particle Board Pieces and Countertops
  • Single Pane Windows
  • Single Screens
  • Tires

All items:

Items deemed as hazardous to staff, volunteers, and/or customers cannot be accepted. These items can include, but are not limited to: broken or chipped ceramics, dishes, or tiles; food and drink; frayed or exposed electrical wires; opened chemicals; and unframed glass and mirrors.

Items in poor condition cannot be accepted. Poor condition refers to signs of wear-and-tear including but not limited to: rips; tears; stains; rot or rust; and smells.

Unless the item is vintage, antique, or serves a noticeable repurposing function, it must be in working condition to be accepted.

If assembly of the item is required, it must have all hardware and instructions necessary for assembly to be accepted.
