At the Habitat for Humanity ReStore, we are in constant need of volunteers. It is through the work of our volunteers that we are able to provide funding for Habitat for Humanity homes while diverting waste from landfills.
Volunteer activities are designed to contribute to our daily operations, enhance our store quality, and increase the satisfaction level of our donors and customers. Typical volunteer activities include: processing donations, arranging sales items, performing special projects, cleaning, and assisting customers. These tasks increase ReStore sales, therefore increasing the amount of money we provide to our Habitat affiliates (Durham County and Orange County), which in turn leads to more homes for deserving families in our local community.
Good things to know about our groups of volunteers:
- Group opportunities are typically designed for 4-12 individuals at a time.
- Group members must be at least 16 years old to participate. Chaperons are required if group members are under 18 years old.
- Groups may volunteer Monday-Saturday, and choose between 2 shifts. (10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm). *Please note that Saturdays tend to fill up quickly.
