Donations Driver & Ambassador

Position Overview: The primary purpose of this position is driving our box trucks to collect donations, to process, price, and make available for sale all donated inventory. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in a typical warehouse setting.

Job Type: Full-time

Required Education: High school or equivalent

Required license or certification: Valid driver’s license and a 3-year, clean driving record

Must Have: Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted

Starting compensation: Full Time: $10.50/hour plus full benefits (90 day probationary period at this salary at which point it will move to $13.00)

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Drives truck in order to pick up large items to be donated to the store and ensures proper loading and unloading of these items.
  • Ensures compliance with donation acceptance criteria while on the truck and in the receiving area.
  • Communicates well with donors regarding our processes, policies, and the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
  • Cleans, tests, and prices all donated items in the receiving area and ensures proper placement of these items onto the sales floor.
  • Researches prices to ensure the store receives the most amount of money from a donation.
  • Keeps the warehouse and donation center clean, organized, and safe.
  • Maintains all supplies and communicates supply needs to management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred, but not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and a 3-year, clean driving record.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, reliable and enthusiastic. Enjoys working with a wide variety of people in many different situations.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and to operate a variety of power tools.
  • Ability to prioritize work, to think critically, and keep a safe workspace.
  • Ability to handle and diffuse challenging situations with tact.
  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate leadership skills with a team attitude.
  • Ability to lead and supervise volunteers, ensuring both volunteers and customers are having an excellent experience.

Sales Floor Associate

Job Type: Full-time

Required Education: High school or equivalent

Starting compensation: $10.50/hour plus benefits (There is also a 90 day probationary period at which point the employee's salary will increase)

Job tasks and responsibilities:

  • Provides the highest quality of service to customers at all times.

  • Handles customer service inquiries and concerns through complete knowledge of product locations and functionality.

  • Handles payments for merchandise through a cash register.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Ensures customers have all required items and needs are met while consistently driving sales.
  • Effectively communicates to management team concerning sales activity that may deplete inventory on Sales Floor.
  • Ensures communication with Manager on Duty to receive daily goals.
  • Organizes/transports materials or supplies within store using hand trucks.
  • Maintains store cleanliness and organization throughout the day.
  • Follows all safety requirements of the Habitat ReStore, local, State and Federal jurisdictions.
  • Provides immediate assistance to customers as requested.
  • Ability to meet established productivity or sales goals.
  • Additional duties as directed by management.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics:

  • Education or Equivalent Experience: High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
  • Cashier experience preferred.
  • Enthusiastic with a good attitude
  • Work is performed in an area that is adequately lighted and ventilated.
  • Specific physical characteristics and abilities are required to perform duties such as agility, dexterity and long periods of walking, standing, bending, carrying or lifting supplies and equipment.

We are currently seeking 8 Construction Crew Leaders to build new homes, repair existing homes, and lead teams of volunteers. No construction experience required; must be flexible and eager to learn! We are also seeking one VISTA member to build capacity at the ReStore. All members qualify for health insurance and childcare benefits as well as a $5,730 education award upon successful completion of their service.
