In honor of our 7th year as a Habitat for Humanity ReStore, we have set the goal to build seven homes in Durham and Orange Counties just from our profits alone. Anytime this year, you can now find a “Home Tracking" device (below) as a way to see where we’re at in achieving this goal. At this time next year, we would love to see seven frames of families hanging up there. We can’t do that without your continued support through shopping, donating and volunteering.
This Month's Featured Family from Habitat for Humanity of Orange County, NC
Tiffany Watson has worked at Rack Room Shoes for over seven years. In addition to her job, she recently started a Health Information Technologies program at Durham Tech. She enjoys meeting and helping people, and has always wanted to work in the healthcare field. When Tiffany isn’t at work, she’s spending time with her kids.
Tiffany has three children: Malik (7), Jordan (4), and Maya (2). Malik enjoys art, and both Malik and Jordan play soccer.
Tiffany grew up in Chapel Hill. She currently lives in her mother’s house in the Northside neighborhood. There are only three bedrooms, and Tiffany sleeps on the pull-out couch in the living room. She is excited to stay in Northside because she loves the area. Everyone in the community takes care of each other “like we’re all a big family.” Tiffany believes that moving into their own home will bring her family closer together.
For seven years, the Habitat for Humanity ReStore has been open to the public: accepting donations of all sizes, selling new or gently-used items, providing tons of volunteer opportunities, and building hope and homes for families in Durham and Orange Counties.
