Purpose of the Position: To increase customer satisfaction and loyalty, thereby increasing the store’s revenue-generating capacity, by managing the questions and requests of ReStore customers.
Key Activities:
- Be a resource of ReStore information to appropriately assist customers.
- Manage transactional paperwork.
- Answer calls to the store’s general line.
- When necessary, direct customers to members of the management team.
Location: Habitat for Humanity ReStore; 5501 Durham Chapel Hill Blvd. Durham, NC 27707
Time Commitment:
- Duration of 2 months or more.
- Minimum average of one shift (2 hours) every 2 weeks.
Required Training:
- An orientation to the ReStore and its volunteer program.
- A policy and procedural training session.
- 3 training/shadowing shifts.
- Additional training sessions, as necessary, for review or store changes.
Supervision:
- Administrative support provided by the Volunteer Program Manager.
- Task supervision provided by the Sales Floor Coordinator.
Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity and the ReStore.
- Provide own transportation to and from the ReStore.
- Maintain a cooperative and friendly attitude while working alone and/or in a group.
- Ability to retain and communicate information about the ReStore’s layout, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to multitask while effectively managing paperwork and assisting customers.
- Willingness to adapt in a multi-faceted paced environment.
- Comfort in handling questions, comments, and referrals via phone.
Desired Qualifications:
- Ability to stand for the majority of a shift.
- Customer service experience.
